I have been working with the Courtyard Playhouse for three years now. The program I roll out for my Sales Team has been tailor made to match our company’s requests. Choosing the Courtyard Playhouse to support my department’s activities has been an excellent choice in terms of team skills growth and  other qualitative targets we set with the team. Today, our sales associates role play sales scenarios with confidence and value the feedback given to them to further build their competencies and customer approach. We rank in the top worldwide in Mystery Shopping waves. Thank you.

The workshop took team members out of their comfort zone, and into a reality they possibly only dreamed about as children growing up: being on stage.  Changing our setting and the environment opened up our willingness to learn and the gratitude we all felt towards being taught these skills has motivated us to mirror our newly built characters on stage, into our regular work-life. We learned as a team how to deal comfortably with ambiguity, uncertainty and risk. We know that no decision or answer is wrong as long as we operate as one team to guide and to support each other, leaving no individual standing alone to face criticism, or to criticize them ourselves. By doing this we realize that we have the right people on our team to enable us to achieve our purpose. We also developed our own individual skills in manoeuvring through difficult situations, or uncertainty to reach our objective.

The reports I’ve heard from my colleagues who were on the presentation skills and management training courses were overwhelmingly positive.  Not only that, but the regional director Andreas Carleton-Smith sang your praises in front of the whole conference (including the CEO, CFO and General Counsel) yesterday.  Well done!

After our workshop I find our brainstorming sessions are smoother now since we all work together to get the best idea, as we all believe that there is no good or bad idea, it’s an offering that needs to be addressed and built on, which is what improv' has taught us.

A big thank you for today’s workshop, it went better than expected from our end as our employees engaged and lived their acts to a certain extent. Kemsley, thank you for the energy you dedicated to get all 11 employees engaged and up-on-their-feet, and hope the next batch is as lively as this one. Kylie, thank you for organizing and for all the support.   All in all, the improvisers (even though it’s way too early to call them as such) felt happy about the workshop, each definitely took something out of it.
