DESCRIPTION:Join us for a high-energy\, joyfully challenging 3-day musical improv intensive led by Andrew Gentilli\, a veteran performer with London’s renowned musical improv troupe Music Box\, where he’s been making up stories in song for over 13 years. \nOver the course of the workshop\, Andrew will guide you through the essential ingredients of musical improvisation: \n• The fundamentals of musical improvisation and how improvised songs work\n• Simple song structures that make creating songs feel easy and achievable\n• Techniques for inventing lyrics on the spot without overthinking\n• Finding rhythm\, rhyme and confidence—even if you don’t consider yourself a singer\n• Fun musical improv games and performance formats\, including favourites like Sing It\n• Working together to create playful\, spontaneous musical scenes \n  \nWhether you’re nervous about singing or simply curious about musical improv\, this intensive is designed to make the experience approachable\, supportive and\, above all\, fun. \nNo previous singing or musical training is required. If you enjoy improv and are willing to jump in\, listen and say “Yes\, And!”\, you’ll fit right in. \nClass Schedule: \nSun 6 September 7:00pm-10:00pm\nTue 8 September 7:00pm-10:00pm\nWed 10 September 7:00pm-10:00pm \nAbout Andrew Gentilli \nAndrew trained as an actor at The Oxford School of Drama and Drama Centre London before going on to study improvisation at iO Chicago\, UCB New York\, The Hideout in Texas\, The Loose Moose Theatre in Canada\, Hoopla in London and various masterclasses across Europe. He now teaches and performs improv around the world\, including events and private coaching. \nHe performs in Music Box: The Improvised Comedy Musical\, two-prov team BEINGS with Susan Harrison\, as well as founding short-form group The Inflatables and Storybag\, specialising in long-form plays. \nAndrew’s focus is on creating vivid characters and relationships to make engaging scenes and narratives\, and bringing a positive spirit to short\, long\, or freeform improv. \nOutside of improv Andrew is an artist\, filmmaker and voice actor.
