Regarded as ‘Britain’s greatest living playwright’ (Times), Tony and Academy Award-winner Tom Stoppard’s critically acclaimed new play Leopoldstadt is a passionate drama of love, family and endurance.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Leopoldstadt was the old, crowded Jewish quarter of Vienna, Austria. But Hermann Merz, a factory owner and baptised Jew now married to Catholic Gretl, has moved up in the world.
We follow his family’s story across half a century, passing through the convulsions of war, revolution, impoverishment, annexation by Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. A company of 40 actors represent each generation of the family in this epic, but intimate play.

- Temporary Membership is valid for 1 month from joining date
- Attendance must be cancelled by emailing or calling the Playhouse up to 24 hours ahead of an NT Live Screening or your Temp. membership will be marked as used
- NT Live screenings take place once per month during our Season with a guaranteed minimum of 10 screenings per year
- If you wish to upgrade to an Annual Membership, you pay only the difference during your 1 month Temp. Membership period
- Temporary Memberships are not refundable or exchangeable and cannot be offered for resale under any circumstances
- A Temporary Member may purchase membership only for his/her own personal or family use
- Collection of your personal information will be conducted in accordance with the Privacy Policy
- The Courtyard Playhouse Performing Arts Training Center reserves the right to vary these Terms and Conditions by giving you written notice of such variation
Fees: 700.00
- Priority entry and seating to all NT Live screenings during membership year (a guaranteed minimum of 10 per year)
- 10% Adult Workshop fee discount (1 workshop)
- 10% Discount on all Playhouse Paraphernalia (t-shirts and branded souvenirs)
- 30% Discount for any NTLive temp membership purchases for guests
- Get notified about NT Live Scheduling and access to bookings ahead of everyone else
Terms
- Annual membership is per person
- Annual Membership is valid for 12 months from joining date
- Please only RSVP for events if you actually will be attending
- If you can no longer attend your RSVP MUST be cancelled by logging into your account and cancelling.
