DESCRIPTION:Tim Orr describes improv as “the process of continuously noticing.” \nIn this intensive\, our international guest instructor Tim Orr explores what that means in practice. What can we notice in scenes and stories? There are countless details\, both big and small\, present in every moment: the environment\, objects\, our characters\, and the subtle shifts in other people’s characters. \nWhen we take the time to slow down and truly look around within a scene\, what do we see? How can we use that information to define and propel our scenes with clarity and confidence? And what happens to our work when we allow ourselves to notice more\, rather than rush ahead? \nThis workshop invites experienced improvisers to sharpen their awareness\, deepen their listening\, and uncover the rich world of detail available in every scene. By slowing down and noticing with intention\, you’ll discover new layers of connection\, specificity\, and storytelling in your improv practice. \n*This workshop is suitable for experienced improvisors only\, who have completed an intermediate course with us or their equivalent.  \n  \nClass Schedule: \nTue 14 April 7:00pm-10:00pm\nThu 16 April 7:00pm-10:00pm\nSat 18 April 7:00pm-10:00pm \n  \nAbout Tim Orr \nTim has improvised since 1988 with many San Francisco and international groups\, including BATS Improv\, True Fiction Magazine\, Awkward Dinner Party\, and 3 For All.   In 2009\, he founded the acclaimed troupe Improv Playhouse of San Francisco.  Since 2015\, he has toured Europe with Inbal Lori from Berlin performing their duo show Click. \nTim has also appeared in numerous plays in the San Francisco Bay Area\, and received critical acclaim for his leading roles in the improvised feature films\, Suckerfish and Security. \nNationally\, Tim has performed and taught improvisation at the American Conservatory Theatre\, BATS Improv\, Stanford University\, and many other venues (Los Angeles\, Chicago\, New York\, Austin\, Louisville\, Atlanta\, etc.). \nInternationally\, he has performed and taught at numerous festivals and/or as an invited guest artist in Amsterdam\, Barcelona\, Beijing\, Beirut\, Belgium\, Berlin\, Bucharest\, Dubai\, Hamburg\, Helsinki\,  Lisbon\, London\, Lyon\, Mallorca\, Oslo\, Paris\,  Saudi Arabia\, Shanghai\, Sofia\, Stockholm\, Tel Aviv and more. \nTim has consulted with numerous groups both nationally and internationally in their formation of improvisation groups and also the development of new improvisation formats. \nYoutube
