Would you like your child to be more expressive, creative, and spontaneous? Would you like a fun way to teach them to become a better risk taker, listener, or storyteller? IMPROVISATION is a skill learned by performers, teachers, business managers, creative experts and children around the world.  Whether it's for performance or just a fun hobby, improvisation skills can make children more aware of the subtle messages all around them.  It can make them respond quicker than they normally would. It can lower the fear level associated with change, risk-taking and failure. Besides being useful in every area of life, improvisation is just plain fun and a great way to make life-long friendships! The workshop culminates in a showcase performance for family and friends. Course fees are R500.

Dip your toes into the fun, interesting and exciting waters of improvisation. Meet others who want to try something new. This class will calm your fears, make you laugh and show you that there’s more to improvisation than what you might expect (it’s easier than you might expect and less pressure than you imagine). This course is great for people who love to be on stage and want to learn the core elements of improvised theatre, or for business people learning to feel comfortable with public speaking... or anyone who wants to have fun while learning to be more spontaneous, creative, playful, open and aware. We will be holding free drop-in sessions in October. Please register your attendance below.

WHAT IS IMPROV?

Improv’ is a form of theatre where all of what is performed is made up on the spot.

WHAT IS NARRATIVE IMPROV?

Narrative improv cares most about creating a story that not only makes the audience laugh but has a complete arc from beginning to end. Narrative improv blends the excitement of spontaneity with the emotional depth of a traditional theatre experience.

WHY LEARN NARRATIVE IMPROV?

Stories are a part of our everyday life.  Stories are how we share ideas with one another. Improv’ training is immensely beneficial for everyone in everyday life, personal and work. It encourages quick-thinking, positivity, flexibility, real listening skills and communication, team-work, awareness to subtle queues, playfulness and being open to new ideas and possibilities.
