THE PLAYHOUSE BEWITCHED FOR A MONTH OF MAGIC

– By Staff Reporter, Sally Quickquill

Authorities have issued a mild (but glittery) warning: the Courtyard Playhouse is set to be overrun by spells, sorcery, and suspiciously theatrical enchantments this October. Sources confirm a full Month of Magic is brewing, and the Ministry of Theatrical Affairs is keeping a close eye on developments after last year’s incident with the self-propelling broom cupboard.

Reports suggest that the Playhouse’s usual repertoire will not escape unscathed. Entire performances are rumoured to be hexed with sudden transformations, bewitched characters, and challenges no one saw coming. Super Story: The Magic Edition tops the list of family spectacles, where children’s wildest suggestions are instantly transfigured into scenes of chaos and delight. Eyewitnesses from rehearsals described “a dragon, three cupcakes, and a nervous penguin on stage at once,” though this could not be independently verified.

Parents are being urged to prepare for half-term camps, where junior witches and wizards will spend their days conjuring drama, crafting spells, and possibly learning how to stop their cloaks from catching fire during warm-up games.

Meanwhile, the Playhouse will host two themed quizzes—one suitable for families and another for adults, so fiendishly difficult that even seasoned spell-casters are advised to bring a lucky talisman. “Questions may include advanced wandlore, or possibly the difference between a kneazle and your neighbour’s cat,” hinted an insider.

To add to the mischief, improv nights throughout October will be cursed (or blessed) with a magical twist. One unfortunate rehearsal reportedly ended with the stage lights levitating into the ceiling and refusing to come down until bribed with pumpkin pasties.

Whether you’re a witch, wizard, or just a muggle in a convincing disguise, one thing is certain: this October, the Playhouse is the only place to experience laughter, spells, and magical mayhem. Tickets are expected to vanish quicker than a disappearing charm—secure yours before they go poof.
