Sipumziwe Lucwaba
Sipumziwe (Pags) is a Cape Town based actor, improviser and member of The Long Shots Improv Comedy Troupe. After graduating from UCT in 2010 with a degree in Film and Media, he began attending drop in classes with The Long Shots. The team was impressed by his singular ability to be the loudest person in a scene (the improv stuff they figured they could work on) and soon afterward he was invited to join. Since then he’s regularly taught and performed improv at venues and events around the country, including at the Mama City Improv Festival, which brought improvisers from all over the world to Cape Town for a week of high quality improv shows and workshops. He currently resides in Gardens, Cape Town with a man from Venezuela.

LOOKING BACK
The Playhouse was established in 2013 and is the passion project of two theatre-lovers, Kemsley Dickinson and his wife Tiffany Schultz.
It started out as a partitioned office space which they renovated over a period of a year and turned into Dubai’s first and most beautiful independent small theatre set in the beautiful oasis of The Courtyard, Al Quoz.
We have come such a long way, and on the road we’ve met so many wonderful people who have contributed to making the Playhouse the warm, welcoming and fun place it is to be: our talented instructors, dedicated team members, loyal audience members and generous volunteers.
This celebration is a chance for us to say a huge “THANK YOU!” to those who have always believed in the values of the Courtyard Playhouse and supported us, helping us to grow from strength to strength!
We hope you will all join us in celebrating this beautiful creative space where kids, teen and adults are free to express themselves, find their creative voice, to play, explore, make new friends and discover a community where they belong.
Here’s to the next 10 Years!
