Is your child ready to take their theatre journey to the next level?
We’re inviting confident and committed young performers to audition for our exciting advanced drama classes for Term 1. These programmes are perfect for children with previous drama experience who are looking to deepen their skills and take part in a full theatrical production or ensemble performance.
What to Expect on the Audition Day:
Children will take part in a fun, supportive audition workshop including warm-ups, improvisation games, and a short monologue performance. We’re not looking for perfection—just potential, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn and collaborate.
Monologue Preparation (Ages 7–11):
Please memorise one of the following short monologues from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory:
Charlie Bucket (Boy/neutral):
“I’d like a bar of chocolate, please. That one… no, that one! Just a small one. I think this might be the one. Please, oh please, let there be a Golden Ticket inside!”
Veruca Salt (Girl/neutral):
“Daddy, I want a golden goose! I want one now! All I’ve got at home is two dogs, four cats, six rabbits, three parrots, two canaries and a hamster. But I want a golden goose!”
(Children are welcome to choose another short speech from the book if they prefer a different character.)
About the Classes:
These are year-long advanced programmes designed for young performers ready to commit to the full creative process of staging a show. Students accepted into the classes will explore a structured, term-by-term approach:
Terms 1 & 2: Character development, voice and movement, scene work, and ensemble-building
Term 3: Full rehearsals and public performances with costumes, props, lighting, and sound
*Important Note*
While fees are paid termly, a full-year commitment is required upon acceptance. Students must be available for all three terms, as well as dress rehearsals and final performances.
