Are you a teen or young adult passionate about theatre and ready to take the next step in your performance journey?
Join our Youth Drama Ensemble to develop your stagecraft, collaborate with like-minded peers, and work towards staging their own production in our beautiful working theatre.
This ensemble is designed for experienced young performers (ages 12+) who are ready for a deeper dive into the creative process. From choosing or writing scripts to character work, costuming, and even marketing the show, ensemble members are involved in every stage of production.
What to Expect in the Ensemble:
Over the course of the term, participants will build on core theatre skills through:
• Character development and script analysis
• Voice, movement, and stagecraft
• Ensemble building and collaboration
• Insight into behind-the-scenes aspects of professional theatre
This class is perfect for students who have previously trained at the Playhouse or have equivalent experience elsewhere.
About the Audition:
Auditions are relaxed and supportive. You’ll take part in a group warm-up and perform a short, memorised monologue (1–2 minutes) of your choice. This can be from a play, film, or book—dramatic or comedic. Choose something that reflects your personality and performance style.
Need help choosing a monologue? We’re happy to offer suggestions—just get in touch.
